Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
At the last meeting of the Administrative Board, a change was made in the requirements for relief from probation which will affect all undergraduates whose requirements for promotion are 3 C's or higher. All such men need in April for relief from probation a margin above their requirements for promotion of one half C, instead of one full C, as has been the case heretofore. This means that new freshmen or provisional students may be relieved from probation in April if they obtain C's in three full courses and in one half course.
It was also provided that a student who is still on probation because of his failure to meet the requirements for promotion at the end of a previous year, may be relieved as soon as he has completed a year of satisfactory work. No change was made in the rule that such men might secure relief at mid-years if they obtained standing in group 4.
It was also intimated that in view of the policy of limitation recently adopted by the Faculty, the chances for readmission of men whose connection had been severed probably would be slighter.
The following is a complete statement of the requirements for relief from probation:
For Low Marks
1. For a Student Placed on Probation in the Course of the Year Because of Low Record:
In order to secure relief from probation before the end of the year, he must meet the following requirements:
(a) If the requirements for promotion are only three courses, with grades of C or higher in two, a margin of one full course and one full C is necessary; except that Seniors with these requirements, who were allowed to reduce to the three-course rate, may be relieved if they have three C's.
(b) If the requirements for promotion are three or more courses, with grades of C or higher in three or more, a margin of one half C is sufficient for relief.
(c) If the requirements for promotion are four C's or higher, no margin is required.
All half-courses count in April and June toward these requirements as half-courses only.
In June, a student who has been placed on probation at any examination period in the course of the year may be relieved if he meets his requirements for the year, even though he obtains no margin.
The requirements for relief from trial are the same as for relief for men placed on probation in the course of the year because of low record.
For Failure in June
II. For a Student Who Is Dropped and Placed on Probation Because of Failure To Meet His Requirements for Promotion in June, or for a Student Who is Readmitted on Probation:
A year of satisfactory work is necessary for relief, unless he attains at mid-years a standing in Group IV or higher in the Rank List, which entitles him to relief at that time.
III. For a Student Placed on Probation for Failure in his First Two Years To Remove Admission Conditions or To Meet his Requirements in the Modern Languages, in Prescribed English, or in Physical Training:
Relief may be obtained as soon as he removes his deficiency, provided his record is otherwise satisfactory.
IV. For a Student Placed on Probation for Misconduct or Other Disciplinary Reasons:
The requirements for relief are prescribed by the Administrative Board according to the circumstances of the case.
