"WE REFORM ANYTHING" GEORGE'S MOTTO FOR JUNIOR REPUBLIC

Liberal Club Speaker Also Favors 18 as Proper Voting Age

Speaking at the Liberal Club at luncheon Yesterday afternoon, Mr. W. L. George described the way his Junior Republic at Freeville, N. Y., functioned.

"It is the smallest Republic in the world, governed by young people between the ages of 16 and 21 from all classes and conditions of society. We'd just as soon take a gunman as a Boy Scout, believing as we do, that one or two years of life in the Republic will create an improvement which will make for good citizenship."

"I believe that the voting age in this country should be 18 instead of 21", said Mr. George. "The country does not hesitate to demand full responsibility in times of war, yet they do not care to give civic responsibilities in times of peace."
