Goals from fouls brought a 23-20 victory to the Springfield Y. M. C. A. College Freshman quintet over the 1927 basketball team in a close and bitterly contested struggle at the Freshman Athletic Building Saturday afternoon. Each team made eight goals from the floor, but frequent opportunities for free throws resulted in the Springfield win.
The visitors never trailed throughout the game, although the score was tied at the end of the first half. In the second period Malick did almost all of his team's scoring, caging seven points, but the reinvigorated Springfield attack made five baskets, too much for this individual effort to overcome.
