"It's up to 'Soapy' himself," was Coach Farrell's comment last night when asked by a CRIMSON reporter to verify the report that J. N. Waters '26 was going to give up track until the opening of the outdoor season.
A rumor picked up by one of the Boston papers yesterday had it that the sensational University miler was suffering from foot trouble and hence would drop running on the boards. "There's nothing to that--his feet are all right," said Coach Farrell emphatically. "He has said something to me about taking things easy, and if he wants to on account of his studies or for any other reason I have no objections. I expect him to keep on, however. Naturally I want him to run in the Intercollegiates on March 1."
