Beginning a series of exhibitions of books illustrating the lectures on Plato, Horace, Shakespeare, Moliere and Cervantes, which are to be given on successive Wednesday afternoons by University professors, the Widener Library yesterday placed in the Treasure Room an exhibit of the works of Plato and of books dealing with him. This exhibit will be in connection with the lecture on "Plato" which Professor C. B. Gulick '90 will give tomorrow afternoon.
The aim of each exhibit will be to present as completely as possible the author's works as shown in manuscript, the first editions, some notable later editions, and finally, with special stress, the English translations, and interesting books about the author.
The fact that most of the books have not been placed in cases, but are free for study and examination adds to their usefulness.
