JOHNSON CLUB AGAIN MAKING STOCK OUT OF OIL SCANDAL

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Teapot Dome scandal has stirred the Hiram Johnson for President Club again.

A statement issued yesterday by L. E. Hickman 2L., one of the founders of the club, read in part: "The Republican party is in for a thorough house cleaning. If the Republicans do not set their own house in order, at the Cleveland convention, the voters will do it for them with great unanimity in the November elections.

The statement concludes with a clarion call to the Republican party to nominate Hiram Johnson, "whose courage and sincerity in fighting corruption, and detachment from the present administration, mark him as the outstanding man in the party, in whom the people have confidence."
