HARVARD HISTORIES RIVAL NOVELS AS BEST SELLERS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

That Harvard's history is not without its popular appeal was evidenced yesterday by the report of the tremendous sale of the two historical books published this year by the University Press,--"Harvard Memories" by President Eliot, and "Bits of Harvard History" by S. F. Batchelder '93.

According to the announcement made by D. T. Pottinger '06, sales manager of the press, the first edition of Mr. Batchelder's book, although on sale for less than two weeks, has already been exhausted, and a second edition is now being printed. President Eliot's "Harvard Memories" which appeared in October is now in its third edition and the continued demand has made necessary a fourth, which will soon be on the press.
