Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
H. N. Rawlins '27 pushed W. P. Dixon '25 for three close games in the state tournament yesterday, the latter winning 17-14, 15-12, 15-10.
As the scores indicate the Freshman kept the University captain busy to hold the lead. The two men had played together but few times before and consequently were not familiar with each other's style. Dixon maintained his steady and consistent playing throughout, and Rawlins made a strong effort at first but petered out towards the end of the match. Both players were noticeably quick in picking up the short shots. Dixon's experience gave him quite an advantage, but Rawlins proved a stronger opponent than was expected.
In the first game, the Freshman got the jump on the upper classman and was leading 14-11 when the latter began to catch up. The game was set at three and Dixon took the points in succession. In the concluding games, the two players were about even through the seventh score, then Dixon forged ahead, taking point after point and allowing Rawlins but a scattered few.
The last three rounds and the semifinal matches of the state tournament are scheduled for next week. The finals have been set over until the following week in order to allow the playing of the Latin Trophy match on the University courts next Friday.
Such large crowds have attended the tournament matches thus far that the management will be forced to restrict the admission to the gallery courts in the future. Men in the state tournament will be given a preference from now on.
Channing Wakefield 3L will meet G. D. Debevoise '26 this afternoon at 3 o'clock on court 14. The former is No. 1 man on the Lincoln's Inn Society team and the latter plays in the No. 3 position on the University team.
