Three radical innovations feature the football schedule for 1925, which was announced by Major F. W. Moore '93, graduate manager of the Athletic Association, yesterday.
For the first time in recent years the University team will leave the turf of the stadium to play a game other than in the Palmer Stadium or the Yale Bowl. This will happen when the team journeys to Providence on November 14 to play Brown in one of the dedication games of the Brunonians new stadium. This step has been taken in appreciation of Brown's courtesy in playing in Cambridge for the last 30 years.
To Meet Rockne System
On October 31, William and Mary will meet the University in the Stadium. This will bring the two oldest colleges in the United States together for the first time, William and Mary having been founded in 1693. The latter team has made rapid strides in the last few years in attaining football fame. It is coached by J. W. Tasker, who graduated from Syracuse, a pupil of the Rockne school of football. Knute Rockne himself, who was formerly connected with the William and Mary faculty, reorganized football coaching there two years ago, and since that time the college has met with increasing success on the gridiron. W. T. Hodges, chairman of the William and Mary Athletic Committee, is now engaged in his second year of graduate study in the Department of Education at the University.
Game With Rensselaer Tech
The University will have another new opponent in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute which will come to the Stadium for the opening game on October 3.
The complete schedule, subject to the approval of the Athletic Committee, is as follows:
October 3. Rensslaer Polytechnic Institute.
October 10, Middlebury.
October 17, Holy Cross.
October 24, Dartmouth.
October 31, William and Mary.
November 7, Princeton at Princeton.
November 14, Brown at Providence.
November 21, Yale.
