Over 40 candidates for the wrestling squad reported at Hemenway Gymnasium yesterday afternoon in answer to the first call for men wishing to try out for the University wrestling team. Coach W. E. Lewis and Captain F. B. Hayne '26 spoke briefly about the prospects for the season.

The prospects for the coming season are unusually bright. Seven members of former teams will return this fall. From last year's team six men are returning: Captain F. B. Hayne '26, and E. H. Bates '25, 175-pound; B. J. Goldberg '26, 125-pound; Carl Stearns '26, 135-pound; F. B. Hill '26, 145-pound; C. H. Bradford '26, heavyweight.

In addition, D. W. Evans 4E.S., who was kept off the team last year by scholastic difficulties, is returning this year and will shine in the 150-pound class. The 1927 Freshman team will provide an abundance of good material in all the different classes and the members of last year's Freshman team promise to give the regulars some stiff competition for their places on the team.
