TURNOUT OF 24 PROMISES WELL FOR 1928 SOCCER TEAM

Freshmen Open Season Against Tabor Academy on October 11

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With twenty-four freshmen out for soccer Coach J. W. Gibson believes that there is material for a winning team. More men are urged to come out whether with or without previous soccer experience, as there is need for a good second team to scrimmage with the first team.

Except for a few scrimmages with the University second team, the freshmen players have devoted their afternoons to practice in kicking and in the fundamentals of the game. There has been a short scrimmage every day. No first team has as yet been selected.

The 1928 team will play its first hard game with Andover at Andover two weeks from this Saturday, and will meet the Yale freshmen on November 22 at New Haven. The schedule for this fall follows:

Oct. 11.--Tabor.

Oct. 18.--Andover at Andover.

Oct. 24.--Springfield 1928.

Nov. 1.--Cornell.

Nov. 15.--St. George's.

Nov. 22.--Yale 1928 at New Haven.
