TENNIS TOURNAMENT PROCEEDS WITHOUT UPSETS

As the Union Tennis Tournament progresses, the seeded players are advancing to their chosen places, much as the tennis enthusiasts expected. The only serious upset occurred when L. H. Bondi '25, was defeated by L. O. Pratt '26 last week. The other seeded players won their matches easily yesterday. The advanced players are now within a round of the semi-finals, and it is expected that the end of the Tournament will be reached this week.

P. M. Lenhart '27, a seeded player and a member of last year's Freshman team, easily defeated Bernard Bandler '26 yesterday in two sets, 6-1, 6-3. Thayer Cummings '25 defeated J. de Bruyn Kops '25 in a one-sided game, 6-1, 6-0. Though dropping the first set, J. O. Bangs defeated W. S. Stone '26, winning the last two sets by a love score, 4-6, 6-0, 6-0.

G. D. Debevolse '26, defeated E. S. Babbitt '26, 6-4, 6-2. A. R. Allen '25 defeated S. F. Collier '26 in a stiff match, being hard pushed in the last set. The score was 6-3, 7-5. The biggest surprise of the day came when J. McC. Roots '25 was defeated by G. K. Lake '26.

Though Kingsbury was far out-classed he was not up to the form, he displayed previously in defeating Stephen Thompson 2nd '27.
