Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
L. E. Larrivee of Holy Cross and B. R. Cutcheon '25 finished first and second in a brilliant cross-country race yesterday when the University harriers defeated the Holy Cross team 23-33. Larrivee's time was 27 minutes and 38 seconds, while Cutcheon finished a pace behind him. The weather was ideal for long-distance running.
Both men turned in the best times for the Charles River five-mile course since Hill of the University of Maine in the University-Maine-Dartmouth meet of last fall set the record of 27 minutes and 27 seconds. W. L. Tibbetts Jr. '26 captured third place.
Donaghy Takes Fourth Place
F. A. Donaghy of Holy Cross finished fourth. The three remaining Crimson men to score followed him in succession: Captain W. L. Chapin Jr. '25, fifth; B. E. Swede '27, sixth; and W. C. Harrison Jr. '26, seventh. The three other Holy Cross men who scored came in eighth, ninth, and eleventh. They were L. V. Hand, P. J. McNamara, and W. J. Handblin.
Larrivee, Cutcheon, and Tibbetts fought for the victory over the entire distance. Tibbetts was often in the lead, trading the position many times with Larrivee and Cutcheon. Managers following the race asserted that it was impossible to determine who did hold the lead, so closely were the three men bunched.
Larrivee Wins in Final Spurt
In a group the three arrived opposite the Newell Boathouse, about 150 yards from the finish, and in the sprint which followed, the Holy Cross star just succeeded in nosing out Cutcheon, while Tibbetts was several yards in the rear. A crowd of at least 100 students witnessed the finish.
F. A. Donaghy of Holy Cross and the three University men who followed him displayed excellent form. In fact, not one of the men who scored for either team came in a very great distance behind the man preceding him.
An interesting feature of the race was the fact that Tibbetts of the University team and Larrivee of Holy Cross were teammates on the United States relay team entered in the Olympic 3000-metre race at Paris last summer.
