BRIGGS TAKES MEASURE OF KUNKEL IN FOUR-SET MATCH

Wins Right to Meet Harada in Tennis Finals Next Tuesday

By defeating P. C. Kunkel 1L, in four sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4, Alden Briggs '25 yesterday won the right to meet T. Y. Harada 1Sp., Champion of Japan, in the final round of the University Singles Tournament on Tuesday.

Kunkel's effort to take the offensive from the net was speedily squelched by Briggs' well-placed drives down the side lines. The former was thus forced to resort to a backcourt game, which is not his strongest style of play.

Briggs has showed to such advantage this week that he is conceded a fair chance of defeating Harada on Tuesday, although Harada has beaten him consistently this fall.
