YALE ELEVEN PLAYS IN RAIN

Captain Lovejoy Out of Practice for the Day, But Scrimmage Goes On

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

New Haven, Conn., Sept 30. The Yale eleven held practice today in the midst of a driving rain storm. It was thought best to keep Captain Lovejoy out of the scrimmage for the day, since he is suffering from a slight cold. However, Burt ably substituted in his place. The first team line-up was: Bingham and Luman, ends; Joss and Butterworth, tackles; Eckart and Wortham, guards: Burt, center; Weineeke, quarter-back; and Cottle, Pond and Bench, backs.

In the scrimmage that took place, there were frequent shifts and substitutions. Pond scored a touchdown, taking the ball across from the five yard line where Cottle had brought it on a 36-yard run on an intercepted forward pass.
