POLITICAL PRODIGY ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR LEGISLATURE

A student in the Harvard Law School, Roy Lynde Fernald of Winterport, Maine, is the first man to announce candidacy for the Maine Legislature in the 1924 elections.

Fernald, a graduate of the University of Maine, was Democratic candidate in the 1922 election when he was too young to vote and had the distinction of being the youngest nominee in the United States. But he was defeated by a scant six votes. This time, however, he expects to win easily.

In 1928 Fernald is intending to run for Congress from the same district of Maine which elected James G. Blaine to his first term at Washington.
