WIDENER HAS EXHIBITION OF EARLY ILLUSTRATIONS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Examples of seventeenth and eighteenth century book illustrations by noted artists comprise the exhibition which was placed yesterday in the cases in the Widener Room of the Library.

A Robert Seymour drawing, dated 1836, picturing one of the earliest balloons; several children's books containing rare samples of the work of Caldecott, the famous English illustrator, and an eighteenth century "Twelfth Night," illustrated by George Cruikshank, are among the most interesting features of the exhibition.
