Major-General Mason Matthews Patrick, chief of Air Service of the United States Army, has accepted the invitation of the Harvard Engineering Society to speak at the University on the development of the science of aviation, it was announced yesterday. Major-General Patrick will lecture at the Union on Thursday, February 28.
In his talk, the general will trace the growth of the art of flight from the days of Langley and the Wrights, to the Fokkers and Shenandoahs of modern times. In addition, he will probably indicate his opinions on the conditions and needs of the nation's air force, with reference especially to the aerial mail service.
This discussion will be illustrated by moving pictures of the history of aviation which are entirely unique, in that they are obtainable only from the War Department at Washington.
