UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR GETS CHEMICAL SOCIETY HONORS

Prof. Theodore W. Richards '86, Professor of Chemistry in the University and Director of the Gibbs Memorial Laboratory, is one of the 21 living Americans designated by the American Chemical Society as having attained international eminence in chemistry. The selection was made by an especially appointed group of leaders in the organization.

Professor Richards has been the recipient of numerous honorary degrees and scientific awards. In 1910 he was presented with the Davy Gold Medal offered by the Royal Society of London. In 1914 he was awarded the Nobel prize. He is generally recognized as one of the foremost living chemists.
