CRIMSON QUINTET AGAIN STRIKES WINNING STRIDE

The Crimson five, minus the services of Captain Gordon, struck their winning stride once more last night, leaving Williams on the short end of a 31 to 20 score.

Rudofsky again played the stellar role. The Williams attackers found him absolutely impassable and were constantly forced to try long shots, only a few of which were caged. With Gordon out of the game, the brunt of the attack fell upon Smith's shoulders. The Sophomore forward did very well, especially from the foul line. He had seven opportunities for free throws and he dropped every one cleanly through the net. Merriam, at the other forward position, had moments of brilliance, but his passing was erratic.

Rauh regularly lost the jump to Fisher, the visiting center, but the Williams five failed to make the most of this advantage. On only one occasion did they launch a successful scoring play from the tap-off. Rauh offset his jumping weakness by sticking closely to his man on the defense and contributing three goals to the Crimson attack.

The game gave the spectators few thrills. The University quintet took a commanding early lead, and the visitors' scoring threats were in the main ineffectual. Captain Blackmer, the Williams leader, despite a recent appdendicitis operation, entered the lineup in a vain effort to stem the tide of defeat. He caged four free throws, but Rudofsky's guarding prevented him from scoring from the floor.
