In order to convenience the players the meet between the University squash team and the Lincoln's Inn Society which was scheduled for Saturday will be played today on the Harvard courts.
The matches are of the greatest importance to both teams as the outcome of the state championship is at stake. The University team has a two point lead over the Law School society. The latter must therefore win four of the five matches to move into first place. The afternoon's results will practically decide the title, for both teams play clubs at the bottom of the league the following week, which closes the tournament.
Capt. Dixon to Oppose Wakefield
Captain Dixon will oppose Channing Wakefield of Lincoln's Inn at 5.00 o'clock on court 14. Both are players of note and a close match is predicted. Dixon's victory over Peabody, the state champion, last week caused quite a stir. In squash circles, but his recent close match with Carroll Harrington in the College tournament gives indication of a slight decline. However, it is expected that the Harvard captain will be in top form and as steady as ever this afternoon. Wakefield is the University champion and ranks third in the state list. He and Dixon have not played each other this year, but the latter is the favorite in the match this faternoon.
Debevoise has recovered from his slump of a week ago and is playing an extremely brilliant game. He will be matched against Lawrence Foster, captain of the Law School team, on court 14 at 4.00 o'clock.
