Professor Beck of Pennsylvania Will Begin Series Tonight

Under the auspices of the Departments of English, Romance Languages, and Music, Professor Jean B. Beck of the University of Pennsylvania will give a series of three lectures on "The Music of the Mediaeval Drama", today, tomorrow, and Wednesday in the John Knowles Paine Concert Hall of the Music Building at 8.15 in the evening. The subjects of the lectures are as follows:

Today.--The Musical Genesis of Dramatic and Dramatized Liturgical Ceremonies from the Earliest Times to their Elaboration as Artistic Units--from the Fourth to the Twelfth Century A. D.

Tomorrow.--Analysis and Appreciation of the Music in Liturgical Scenes of the Type of Visitatis, Pastores, Magi-Herodes.'

Wednesday.--Analysis of Extra-Liturgical Students Plays of the Twelfth Century: the Ludus Daniel and the Epico-Dramatic St. Nicholas Plays.

These lectures will be open to the public.
