Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
The University squash team practically clinched the Massachusetts state championship on Saturday when it won four of its five matches from the Tennis and Racquet Club of Boston. One of the best matches of the day was that in which W. P. Dixon '25, captain of the University team, decisively outscored C. C. Peabody, holder of the state championship, 14-17, 15-13, 18-17, 15-2, and as a result of which the Harvard captain is being hailed as the future champion.
With only 10 matches left, Harvard holds a two-point lead over Lincoln's Inn Society, the University's opponent next Saturday. Although this may seem a close margin upon which to predict a victory, scores in local tournaments and the splendid showing of the team during the past week merit it Lincoln's Inn must take four matches to gain first place, and in the present light, this does not seem likely. The Harvard Club of Boston, the University's last opponent, has been losing its meets regularly, and probably will not offer much opposition.
The matches on Saturday were typified by hard and consistent playing G. D. Debevoise '26, who played the day before, was the only man in the meet to lose. The games were close and the outcome of many of them were in doubt until the end.
Dixon Defeats State Champion
The Dixon-Peabody match was an upset of all predictions. The Harvard captain played an unusually steady game all the way through, leading a good deal of the time, but the state champion managed to catch up on several occasions and to force a close decision. In the first game Dixon led the scoring up to 14 points where Peabody tied. The game was set then at three and the state champion romped away with the necessary points. In the third game the two men contended for nearly five minutes for the deciding credit which fell to Dixon. The score of the last game, 15-2, gives positive indication of the superiority of the Harvard captain. In this he was as calm and steady as at the beginning of the afternoon. Peabody seemed to lose his customary control, and with precision Dixon settled the match.
