FALL TRACK PRACTICE BEGINS NEXT TUESDAY

Will Hold Light Workouts Throughout Season Ending With Annual Fall Meet--Shortage of Weight Men

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The regular Fall track practice will start on Tuesday, September 25, with a meeting of all University and Freshmen candidates in the Locker Building on Soldiers Field at 2.30 o'clock. The meeting is planned primarily to give Coaches Martin and Farrell an opportunity to outline the fall and winter work for both squads.

The fall season will consist chiefly of light practice and will close with the annual Fall Handicap Meet.

The work of the ensuing weeks is very important as the first stage in the development of both teams. For the early weeks of practice experience is unnecessary and the Fall season will be devoted to the development of untrained material. It will also enable the coaches to get a line on new men.

The shortage of men for the weight events is the most serious problem facing Coach Martin this year and a general call has been issued for inexperienced men to try for these positions.
