The game Tuesday at Yale Field was less successful, the University nine going down to defeat by the narrow margin of 3 to 2.

The University started the scoring in the third inning when Keegan hit strongly for a single and was advanced to second on Young's hit. Clark, however, hit weakly to Pond who threw to third, retiring Keegan. Thayer coming up next drove out a fast liner that brought Young in and advanced Clark to third. Jenkins brought him in on a deep sacrifice fly.

The University managed to hold its lead until the sixth inning when the Yale batsmen saw their chance and took it. Eddy, the first man up, made a good single and advanced to second when Buell missed Mallory's fly. The two runners were advanced to second and third on de Sibour's sacrifice and Eddy came home on Kelley's hit, followed by Mallory when Cosgrove knocked out a sacrifice fly. With the score at tie, Pond drew a throw to second out of Keegan which allowed Kelley to race home for the winning run.
