In circular 242 of the Harvard College Observatory Professor S. I. Bailey G. '88, Philips Professor of Astronomy, discusses "The Comparison of a Milky Way Field with one at the South Galactic Pole", and gives some "Notes on the Structure of the Milky Way". The photographs upon which the article is based were made at the College Observatory, Arequipa, Peru, with a 24-inch Bruce photographic telescope.
