New Haven, Conn., June 9.--The Yale baseball team suffered its third consecutive defeat today when the Crescent Athletic Club held an early lead and scored a 6 to 4 victory.
The visitors started the scoring in the opening inning and forced the Blue to use four pitchers in an attempt to stem the attack. Hartnett's wild pitching in the seventh resulted in two more runs for the Crescent nine, but Yale answered with a pair of runs in their half of the inning. With the score 6 to 2 against them in the final session, the Yale batters made a last stand, Captain Eddy knocking out a three-bagger and scoring two runs. The side was retired, however, without further scoring.
