CAPTAIN LANE IS WINNER OF FOILS CHAMPIONSHIP

Captures All of His Seven Matches and Secures Gold Medal--Epee and Sabre Championships to Be This Afternoon

E. H. Lane '24, captain of the University fencing team, won the gold medal for the University foils championship yesterday afternoon at Hemenway gymnasium by winning all of his seven matches. The silver medal was awarded to E. L. Lane '24, who captured second place with six victories: G. S. Sharp '24 took third place with Roland Fleer '24 fourth.

The feature match of the tournament was between Captain E. H. Lane and E. L. Lane which was won by the former. Although the score, 7-3, was not close, the fencing was fast and each point was closely fought.

This afternoon at 2.30 o'clock in the fencing room of the Hemenway gymnasium the epee and sabre championships will be held. Burke Boyce 1G., S. H. Ordway 2L., C. J. Shearn Jr. '23 and J. K. Watson '23 will take part in these events.
