Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
A two-bagger by McGlone with two men on base broke a 1 to 1 tie in the tenth inning of the Freshman-Boston High School of Commerce game yesterday, and brought a last minute victory to the yearlings, the final score being 2 to 1.
The Freshmen's first tally came as the result of a hot liner by McGlone, who crossed the plate a minute later on Knowlton's long sacrifice fly. Their only other run came in the extra inning. Captain Maher, who substituted for Baldwin in the last of the seventh, was hit by the pitcher, and reached second on Casto's sacrifice. The score came when McGlone hit a high bounding ball to the visitor's third baseman, who was slightly over-anxious and threw wide of first.
Commerce's only run came in the sixth. Leonard started the inning by grounding out, but Keenan, the visitor's first baseman, followed with a clean triple deep into right field. The next batter, Captain Santosuosso, brought in the tally with a single, but was tagged out when he tried to reach second on the throw to the plate.
Nolan, on the mound for the visitors, pitched a brilliant game, striking out seven men, and walking only three.
The line-up follows: Earned runs, Harvard 1926, Commerce. Sacrifice hit, Knowlton. Stolen bases, Knowlton 2, Todd, Burton, Calkins 2. Three-base hits, McGlone, McCarthy, Keenan. Bases on balls, off Casto 2, off Nolan 3. Left on bases, Harvard 1926 7, Commerce 7. Struck out, by Casto 2, by Nolan 7. Hit by pitched ball, by Nolan (Maher). Double play, Knowlton to Field.
