UNBEATEN ANDOVER NINE FACES FRESHMEN TODAY

Visitors Defeated Yale Seconds 8.2--Have Won Four Other Contests--Moseley to Pitch for Crimson

One of the strongest teams Andover has turned out for several years will face the Freshman baseball nine this afternoon at 3 o'clock on Soldiers Field. Coach Davidson gave his squad a rest on Thursday after the close game with Dartmouth on Wednesday, taking the squad to the Red Sox's game with Washington. Yesterday a light fielding and batting practice was held in preparation for today's contest.

Moseley will probably start on the mounds for the Crimson, Casto having thrown out his arm in the Dartmouth game, while Puffer will be used as relief pitcher.

The Andover Academy nine has only player five games, but it has found little trouble in defeating all its opponents by overwhelming scores. In the first contest, of the season against Middlesex, the Blue batted its way to a 10 to 3 victory, and little later, it sent Wentworth Institute down to defeat by the score of 6 to 0. Huntington offered even less resistance, succumbing by the wide margin of 17 to 1. The real proof of Andover's strength, however, lies in its victory over the Yale seconds. Shoop, the Andover pitcher, held his opponents to no hits until, in the last of the ninth, mitted Jenkins to smash out a home run, which brought the final score to 3 to 2. Another notable victory was that over the strong Dean Academy nine by the safe margin of 9 to 1.
