At 3.30 o'clock this afternoon on the Stadium track, the second pair of races for the Garcelon hurdle trophies will be run off. Any member of the University who has not this year won one of the miniature bronze hurdles, may compete for these prizes, ten of which are given annually by Mr. W. J. Garcelon, Law '95, to the track management to be awarded for excellence in the hurdle events.
In the first races of the year, which were held on May 9, Hauers won the high hurdles, while Thayer led over the 220-yard distance. Both of these men are, consequently, ineligible to participate in this afternoon's contests. In the first races, Thomas and J. L. Combs tralled Hauers over the high hurdles, while Kane and Combs came in second and third in the low event. These three hurdles, and Fletcher, are picked as the most likely winners of today's competitions.
