FRESHMEN UP AGAINST COMMERCE NINE TODAY

VISITORS SUCCESSFUL IN ONE OF THREE GAMES PLAYED

At 4 o'clock today on Soldiers Field, the Freshman baseball team enters its ninth game of the season slightly favored over its opponents, the High School of Commerce. Although the visitors have snatched only a singly victory out of the three contests they have already played, they have shown a steady improvement since their ten inning game with Boston College High on Monday, and, with Nolan on the mound and Captain Santasuosso behind the bat, Coach Fleming expects his team to give a good account of itself.

The Freshmen will face their opponents with almost the identical line-up that defeated Huntington in the first game of the season. Burton and Slayton, who have both been unable to practice for some time on account of minor injuries, played in the game with the regular University team yesterday, and Slayton was responsible for several spectacular assists in tight places.
