Playing a steadier game than their opponents, the University golf team continued its winning streak and defeated the Dartmouth links men by the score of 6 to 3. The University golfers won four of the twosomes and two of the foursomes, while the Green golfers succeeded in capturing only two of the individual matches and one of the foursomes.
None of the matches were particularly closely contested with the exception of the play between W. G. Soule '25 and Dole playing six on the Green team. On the last nine holes Dole succeeded in barely nosing out his opponent winning by one stroke. Henry played the best golf for the Dartmouth team, turning in a 76.
The summary of yesterday's match follows:
Twosomes.--Hodder (H) defeated Captain Sheehy (D), 7 and 6; Captain Williams (H) defeated McKee (D), 3 and 2; Peirson (H) defeated Taft (D), 3 and 2; Clough (H) defeated Learnard (D), 2 and 1; Henry (D) defeated Mapes (H), 3 and 2; Dole (D) defeated Soule (H), 1 up.
Foursomes.--Williams and Hodder (H) defeated McKee and Sheehy (D), 7 and 5; Peirson and Clough (H) defeated Taft and Learnard (D), 3 and 2; Henry and Dole (D) defeated Mapes and Soule, 3 and 2.
Score.--Harvard 6, Dartmouth 3.
