George O'Hanlon Jr. 2G.B. of New York City is the winner of the first prize, while second honors go to Henry Reiff '25 of New York City in the annual Union library essay contest, the judges announced last night.
The first award of $100 will be made to O'Hanlon for an essay entitled "The Future of Democracy". "Thirty Pieces of Silver" is the subject of Reiff's essay, for which $50 will be awarded. Both prizes will be awarded at the annual dinner of the Union at 7 o'clock next Monday evening. At the same time four prizes of $50 each will be awarded to the four Freshman members of the Union who have distinguished themselves in scholarship and general class activities.
