ESTABLISH NEW LAW DEGREE

Master of Laws Will Be Conferred for Extra Study With High Rank

A new graduate degree in law, that of Master of Laws (LL.M.) has been established at the Law School by the Governing Boards of the University on the recommendation of the Faculty of Law.

The new degree will be intended primarily for students who expect to practice. To be admitted as a candidate for it, a man must be a college graduate and must also have completed with high rank the course for the first degree in law at an approved school. To win it, he must complete with high rank a year of graduate work which will include the course in Roman law, the principles of the civil law, and other graduate courses.

The present graduate degree of Doctor of Law (S. J. D.), also based upon a year of distinguished graduate work, will be continued primarily for teachers of law or those preparing to become teachers.
