PRINCETON, N. J., May 16.--The Princeton baseball team defeated Dartmouth here today by the score of 10 to 4, in a contest that was well played on both sides, although after the fourth inning, the outcome was never in doubt.
In the first two frames neither team was able to score, but in the third the Tigers ran wild on the bases, scoring five runs before they were retired. The Green made their only threat in the fourth, scoring two runs, but the Tigers came back with three more in the last of the same inning and Princeton was never in danger thereafter. Caldwell, the Orange and Black twirler, allowed his opponents only six hits, and helped win his own game with two triples and a single.
The batteries were, for Princeton, Caldwell, pitcher, and Stinson, catcher; for Dartmouth, Lyon and Barker, pitchers, and Heep, catcher.
