Approximately 100 were present at the R. O. T. C. farewell dinner last night given in honor of two departing officers of that unit, Majors Robert Charles Frederic Goetz and Edwin Pearson Parker. In the after-dinner program, P. S. Sprague '24, captain of the University polo team, presented Major Goetz with a solid silver cigarette case, while Thaddeus Adamowski, representing the unit, presented Major Parker with an automatic service revolver appropriately engraved.
Major General Andrey Brewster, commanding general of the First Corps Area, who was the principal speaker of the evening, said a few words on the old R. O. T. C. before the war and then expressed his pleasure for the affection and esteem with which the retiring officers are held by the men of the unit. He added that he would endeavor to find men of the highest character to fill the two vacated positions next fall.
