REORGANIZED THIRD CREW WINS AGAIN OVER JUNIORS

COACH MULLER SIFTS MEMBERS OF UNIVERSITY B AND C

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Against a strong easterly breeze the University C crew rowed to a six length victory over the B crew yesterday afternoon on the mile and seven-eighths course in the Basin.

G. S. Mumford '25, stroking for the first time in his career, started off at a rate of about 40 strokes a minute, but soon dropped to 32, where he kept the stroke during the remainder of the course excepting the short spurt at the close. The time was 11 minutes and 10 seconds.

Even before the close of the opening spurt the C crew appeared to be gaining and by the time the one-mile mark was reached the seconds were three lengths behind. Mumford maintained the stroke and since Bradford was unable to compete with his rivals' pace the C crew gained four more lengths in the remaining distance.

Shifts in University B and C

The second and third crews started the day with many shifts. R. F. Bradford '23 is now stroke of crew B and B. F. Rice-Bassett '25 is at bow in the same crew. Mumford, the present stroke of the third crew, had been rowing in the same boat at number four.

The new seating is as follows:

University B.--Bow, B. F. Rice-Bassett '25; 2, J. R. Hoover '24; 3, G. R. Johnson '25; 4, J. D. Jameson '24; 5, Francis Fiske '23; 6, N. C. Webb '23; 7, A. L. Hobson '24; stroke, R. F. Bradford '23; cox., B. H. Burnham '24.

University C.--Bow, Standish Bradford '24; 2, H. G. Gurran '25; 3, R. C. Storey '24; 4, C. K. Cummings '23; 5, M. W. McGreevy '24; 6, R. S. Hubbard '24; 7, H. H. Fuller '23; stroke, G. S. Mumford '25; cox., C. S. Heard '25.

In the class crew elimination race over the mile and seven-eighths Saturday, the remodelled Senior class eight came out two lengths to the good.
