1926 RED BOOK TO COME OUT ON SCHEDULE TIME

Every Department of Year Book Reports Rapid Progress Toward Publication on June 2--$4,330 Collected

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Except for a few photographs and some advertising copy, all material for the Freshman Red Book has been handed in, and the book should be ready for publication by June 2, it was announced last night by A. W. K. Billings Jr., Editor-in-chief of the Red Book. The reports of all departments of the board indicate that the sale will undoubtedly begin on scheduled time.

The Business Chairman, D. LeB. Sweeney '26 has announced that 53 full pages of advertising have been secured, and the amount collected has reached $2800. Five hundred and ten subscriptions at three dollars apiece have already been received, making with the advertising a total of $4,330. The business department has tried the experiment this year of accepting no complimentary advertisements, but instead a full page has been given to the Red Cross, the expense of which will be borne by firms in and around Boston. The last copy will be sent to the printer on May 18.

The photographic department also reports that their work is almost complete. Except for five panels and several group pictures which cannot be taken until later for various reasons, all photographs are in the hands of E. W. Marshall '26, chairman of the committee, who will probably be able to remedy these deficiencies by the end of the week. Several innovations have been inaugurated in this department also. There will be two pages devoted entirely to pictures of janitors and men working around the Freshman dormitories, and one page with the heads of prominent men in the class, in which satirical bodies will be drawn.

The Arts and Cuts department, under F. R. Turner '26, has 35 headings for Freshman activities to show for its work. Proofs have recently been returned from the printer, and the results in general have been highly successful.

Now that all the positions on the board have been filled, plans are being laid for a Red Book dinner, but the date has not yet been announced.
