The first Freshman Smoker, which will be held tonight at the Union, will start promptly at 7 o'clock with a flashlight picture for the Red Book. President Lowell will begin his speech immediately afterwards in order to give him time to reach a dinner he is attending this evening. After Dean Little has addressed the meeting, M. A. Cheek, president of the class, will report on the activities of the Executive Committee. N. S. Howe Jr., chairman of the Jubilee Committee, will discuss plans for May 25, which will be fully completed at a meeting at 6 o'clock tonight. A. W. K. Billings Jr., Editor-in-chief of the Red Book, will also report on the progress that has been made in all departments of the Board and the results of the competitions that have already been decided. The facts about the Finance Committee will be given by C. McG. Well, secretary-treasurer of the class, while J. A. Halsted, who has recently been appointed chairman of the Entertainment Committee, will talk on the special Freshman night at the Pops concerts.
Two moving pictures have also been planned, a Larry Semon comedy on "Golf", and another film entitled "Dog's Life". The Smoker Committee has made arrangements with a caterer to serve ginger ale and doughnuts, and has also secured tobacco and cigarettes. The smoker will probably be over by 9 o'clock.
