PLAN TO DIVIDE TRACK SQUAD INTO TWO TEAMS

As Result of Saturday's Trials, Coach Martin Will Have Two Teams Which Will Have Informal Meets

As the result of time trials held on Saturday, Coach Martin is planning to make a division of the track squad into two teams today, which will have frequent informal meets during the spring season, the first one coming next Saturday afternoon.

In the contests Saturday several men stood out conspicuously. Captain J. W. Burke '23, in winning the 600-yard run, showed abundant power and finished the home stretch with a strong sprint. W. R. Chase '26, who led both in his section of the 100-yard dash and in the 350-yard run, was the only double winner, but C. R. Hauers '23 and LeB. R. Barker '26 each won a first and second place.

The results of the trials were:

100-Yard Dash.--First heat: Won by Vinton Chapin '23; second, LeB. R. Barker '26; third, J. H. Weiss '25. Second heat: Won by W. R. Chase '26; second Eduardo Sanchez '26; third, J. W. Perkins '26.

600-Yard Run.--University heat: Won by J. W. Burke '23; second B. R. Cutcheon '25; third, A. B. Harlow '25. Freshman heat: Won by R. G. Allen; second, R. L. Brooks; third, F. P. Kane.

Low Hurdles.--Won by A. H. Gordon '23; second, C. R. Hauers '23; third, J. S. Murphy '25.

High Hurdles.--Won by C. R. Hauers '23; second, L. O. Combs '26; third, L. V. McMaster '26.

350-Yard Run.--Won by W. R. Chase '26; second, Jefferson Fletcher '25; third J. U. Harris '24.

1000-Yard Run.--Won by LeB. R. Barker '26; second, J. H. Sherburne Jr. '24; third, Vinton Chapin '23.
