The Freshman Black crew lost a very close race to the Union Boat Club eight yesterday afternoon over the one-mile course in the Charles River Basin. The boats were on even terms for most of the distance, the Boat Club crew winning by a scant half length in a brilliant finish.
The White, Red and Blue Freshman crews had a long, easy row of about eight miles while the 150-pound and dormitory crews rowed a shorter distance.
The three University crews went about ten miles, engaging in a slightly more strenuous work-out than was their portion day before yesterday. All the class and 150-pound crews also had long rows.
