At the first public performance of "Take a Brace" last night, the show was enthusiastically received by an audience of 380 that taxed the capacity of the Pudding Theatre. The final Cambridge performance will, take place at 8.15 o'clock tonight and there are still a few tickets on sale at Leavitt and Peirce's, should any remain, they will go on sale at the door tonight.
The specialities were exceedingly well received. The jazz band, the instrumental specialties by M. H. Harris '24 and J. H. S. Moynahan '24, and the vocal duets by B. S. Cogan '23 and R. P. Bullard '24 were given encore after encore. The musical numbers were also well received, the best liked being "Won't You Marry Me", "Cuddle Up", "I Thing It's Wonderful", "Southern Shore", and "Back to Back Bay".
The club will probably give "Won't You Marry Me", sung by E. N. Carson '24 and R. P. Bullard '24, who are assisted by six chorus men, at a benefit performance at the Casino Theatre, New York City, on Sunday evening on the way to Baltimore. On the same bill will be such prominent musical comedy stars as Frank Tinney, Will Rogers, George M. Cohan, Larry Dressler, and Jane Cowl. The program of the evening will consist of a number of specialties and vaudeville acts. The proceeds of the performance will be given to the Boy Scouts of America who are now campaigning for funds.
Following the southern trip the club will present "Take a Brace" in the Plymouth Theatre on the evenings of April 25, 26, and 27.
