Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
The Vassar Freshmen won the first Vassar-Harvard debate ever held last Saturday evening at Poughkeepsie by a vote of 287 to 131. The audience, almost wholly composed of Vassar students, did the voting. President H. N. MacCracken of Vassar presided.
The Vassar Freshmen argued in favor of an agreement on the part of the United States for the cancellation of interallied debts, and although both teams stressed the economic factors, this proved to be Vassar's strong point. The members of the University who spoke were F. S. Tupper, H. M. Hart, and W. S. Stone.
