The University quintet outplayed Technology at basketball last Saturday night and won a 28 to 18 victory in the hangar gymnasium at M. I. T. Gordon played an excellent game for the Crimson, getting 16 points, while Miller of M. I. T. practically played the whole game for his team by scoring 16 of their 18 points, thus equaling Gordon.
M. I. T. started fast, but when the game had settled down the Crimson showed its superiority and the half ended 16-2 in favor of the University. M. I. T. was never able to get the lead. However, Captain Cook of M. I. T. had been forced to leave the game early in the half because of a badly strained knee and his loss was felt severely.
The second half slowed down and for the last few minutes of play an entire team of Crimson substitutes was used.
The summary. Score, Harvard 28, M. I. T. 18. Goals from floor, Gordon 5, Miller 2, Lowenthal, Black, Samborski, M. Miller 4, Coleman. Goals from fouls, Gordon 6, McLeish 2, M. Miller 8. Referee, M. W. Souders. Timekeeper, McKinnon.
