The last Glee Club concert of a series of three presented annually at Symphony Hall in Boston will be given there on Thursday, April 5. Dr. A. T. Davison '06 will act as conductor and Frieda Hempel, soprano, will be the assisting soloist. She will sing two groups of songs alone and one with the Glee Club.
A special feature of the concert will be two choruses written by J. Guy Ropartz and dedicated to the University Glee Club. Another song dedicated to the Glee Club by Edward Ballantine of the University's music department, entitled "The House Among the Trees", will also be sung.
The program will be as follows: During the spring recess, 58 members of the Glee Club will make an extended tour of the Middle West, leaving Cambridge on April 14 and arriving in New York the same evening where they will give their first performance. Later they go to Cleveland and, at the invitation of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, they will appear with them at two of their regular concerts. As in the past, the Glee Club will be entertained by Harvard Clubs in the various cities. The schedule of the trip is as follows: Saturday, March 14 at Carnegie Hall, N. Y. C. Monday, March 16 at Academy of Music, Philadelphia. Tuesday, March 17 at Allendale Treatre, Buffalo. Wednesday, March 18 at Orchestra Hall, Detroit. Thursday, March 19 at Masonic Hall, Cleveland. Friday, March 20 at Auditorium, Canton, Ohio. Saturday afternoon, March 21 at Masonic Hall, Cleveland.
