JAVELIN AND DISCUS MEN TO REPORT FOR PRACTICE TODAY

Other Members of Track Squad Not to Begin Work for a Week

All candidates for the javelin and discus events for the University and Freshman track teams have been called out for practice this afternoon at Soldiers Field. This is one week earlier than the other track men will start work, their season beginning with a meeting at the Varsity Club Friday evening and actual practice next Monday.

As soon as the men begin work, they will be divided into two squads of approximately equal strength with frequent informal meetings. The first of these meets will probably he held about April 14.

The competition for second assistant track manager will open Thursday with a meeting at 1.05 o'clock at the H. A. A. The competition, which is open only to Sophomores, will last eight weeks, closing on May 26.
