About 120 candidates reported at the Varsity Club last night at the enrollment for spring football practice. After talks by Captain C. J. Hubbard 3E.S. and Coach Fisher a moving picture of the Yale game last year was shown.
In explaining the coming training period Captain Hubbard emphasized the importance of spring football practice, especially this year, since the beginning of fall practice is limited to one week before college opens by the Yale-Princeton-Harvard agreement. He said that the spring practice served to give the coaches a valuable line on the candidates, especially the green material, and gave the candidates an opportunity to become accustomed to some of the basic plays used.
Coach Fisher stated that the University would try to maintain a clean slate through all its games next year. He said he considered the spring practice the real beginning of the season and was glad to see so many men present.
The practice, which will last about three weeks, will begin on Monday when the candidates will report at Soldiers Field.
