GAY TO SPEAK ON "BUSINESS" TONIGHT

"Business" will be the subject of the lecture that will be given by Mr. E. F. Gay Hon. '18 in the Living Room of the Union at 8 o'clock this evening, the second in a series on vocations. At the close of the address, Mr. Gay will endeavor to answer questions asked him on matters pertaining to his talk.

Members of the University may also secure conferences in which their problems will be considered with greater detail by signing the blue book on the main desk in the Reading Room of Widener. Dean W. B. Donham '98 of the Graduate School of Business will coordinate with Mr. A. M. White '92 in conducting these conferences. Dean Donham will hold conferences tomorrow from 10 to 12 o'clock and from 3 to 5 o'clock in the afternoon at the Quiet Room of the Union while Mr. White will also confer with men from 10 to 12 o'clock in the morning, but from 2 to 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

Was Dean of Business School

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1890, Mr. Gay taught economics at Harvard for 17 years, becoming professor in 1906. In 1908 he was appointed Dean of the Graduate School of Business Administration, and during the war, because of his wide experience in economic matters, served as a member of the Commercial Economy Board of the Council of National Defense. In 1919 he resigned as Dean of the Graduate School of Business Administration to become editor of the New York Evening Post.

The third lecture of the vocational series will be given on Monday, March 26, by Professor Bliss Perry of the English Department in the University. Professor Perry will speak on the opportunities offered to college men in the field of "Education". "Law and Public Service" will be the subject of the fourth talk, the speaker being Mr. James Byrne '77. Mr. Byrne, who is a fellow of Harvard College, is a prominent New York lawyer and president of the Bar Association in that city. Dr. W. S. Thayer '85, the head physician of the Johns Hopkins Hospital, will deliver the fourth lecture on April 2 with "Medicine and Public Health" as his subject.

President Lowell will conclude the series by lecturing on "The Choice of a Profession in Relation to a Liberal Education". The date set for this lecture is April 11.
