TO HOLD SCHOOL RELAY CARNIVAL

This afternoon at 3 o'clock at Soldiers Field a scholastic relay carnival will be held under the auspices of the H. A. A. Because of the inability of Exeter and Worcester Academies to compete, there will be no races for Class A preparatory schools, but this event will probably be replaced by an exhibition relay between the champion Freshman quartet and the Huntington School team, the only Class A runners entered. The reason assigned for Exeter's failure to participate is that their schedule is too full to allow any additional races.

The H. A. A. will award medals to the winners in the two classes which will race. Teams will be run three at a time, the winning team in each event being determined by the best times recorded.

The schools entered in today's meet are:

Class B, New England Preparatory Schools.--Browne and Nichols, Dean Academy, St. John's Milton Academy, Noble and Greenough, and Pinkerton Academy.

Class C, Massachusetts High Schools.--Boston College High and Boston Commerce, English, and Latin; Brockton, Brookline, Medford, and Newton.

Arrange for Future Meets

Yesterday afternoon Major Fred W. Moore '93, graduate treasurer of the H. A. A., Coach Martin of the track team, and assistant, track manager A. C. Bickford '24 confered with Mr. J. E. Downey, headmaster of Commerce High, about scholastic track meets to be held at Soldiers Field. At this meeting it was decied to hold the spring interscholastic championship meet on May 12, which is a week earlier than the usual date. Plans wre also made for dividing this competition into classes which would give the smaller schools an opportunity to win in their field. Previously it has been an easy matter for the larger chools, such as Andover and Exeter, to take the first places.

At the same time, February 23, 1924 was fixed as the date for next year's indoor intersholastic meet which will be the first of its kind held under the auspices of the H. A. A. This event, which will be called the Harvard Indoor Interscholastic Meet, will comprise the Massachusetts State High School Association and the New England Preparatory School Association meets. It will take place on the same date as the annual triangular meet with Cornell and Dartmouth.
